Fixed Journey Issues

Looking at user paths and funnels, we were able to find key areas that those who did not donate struggled with.  We then redesigned the donation “checkout” flow to address those areas of friction and make the entire process as clear as possible, cleaning up the language and removing all unnecessary distractions.[/mvc_timeline_son][mvc_timeline_son icon=”fa fa-bar-chart”]

Ran Detailed Analysis

We analyzed the behavior of those who WERE able to successfully donate.  Specifically, we looked at other pages they touched along the way, searching for consistencies.  With a little bit of luck and lot of experience as to where and how to look, we found our golden nugget.  What we found was that a large percentage of visitors who donated were all touching a very specific page.  This page, called “Your Dollars At Work” was a simple breakdown of how the donation money gets spent each year.  Visitors who touched this page were 84.6% more likely to donate than those we did not.[/mvc_timeline_son][mvc_timeline_son icon=”fa fa-road”]

Changed The Journey, Leveraging Our Findings

Our next action was to take that natural path and encourage more visitors to take it.  We placed a major call-out on the homepage to drive to “Your Dollars At Work” and then redesigned that page to make a bigger push to donations.  Later, Your Dollars At Work ended up in the action bar on every page of the website.[/mvc_timeline_son][mvc_timeline_son icon=”fa fa-money”]

Celebrated The Result
